I'm in Germany right now, helping Jasmin with her relocation to Konstanz. Of course, I was planning to shoot a story about it, just for private purposes, but for the first time ever, I have left my "real" photographic equipment at home. Instead, I created a Twitter account before I left and downloaded the Twitter app onto my cell phone. I'm going to use my iPhone 4 for all the photography tasks, and I actually bought a little "Olloclip" lens package at the airport to add some flexibility during the image capturing process.
I knew I was basically trading image quality for ease of use and speed of publication. Or for lightweight travelling. I wanted to learn about Twitter and how it feels to publish in "real time". As I said, the whole thing is somewhat experimental, and I'm in no way sure that Twitter will be the right way for me to publish a "life" photo story. So far, there are a number of things I like, and a few things I feel are not right for my purpose.
Anyway, please see the my account "GuidoKrueger" at Twitter to it judge yourself:
I'm going to post frequently to learn as much as possible and to document the event in the most thorough way. Jasmin has warned me that my followers might step away if I post too frequently. Anyway, we'll see. I have no idea if the image quality is sufficient, if the app is the right thing, if Twitter is the right tool for the task, and so on. We'll find out! Please feel free to stop by a couple of times per day during the next days, or just simply become a follower. Any comments are appreciated.
