"Visual C++ 4.0" is the successor of "Visual C++ 1.5" (there was no edition on Visual C++ 2.5). After several years of C++ / MFC programming, I've not been involved with Visual C++ programming in 1994 and 1995. Since there was a demand to release a third edition which was specifically written for Visual C++ 4.0, Addison Wesley and me decided to introduce two new authors into the project.

Nino Turianskyj and Frank Heimann are experienced authors and are actively working with Visual C++. They based the new text on the version 1.5 manuscript and introduced a great number of new features and significant changes to the book. "Visual C++ 4.0" is again a very good introduction and reference for Visual C++ and Microsoft Foundation Classes programming.
