New-in-Berlin #4: Humboldt Symphony
Two days ago, we were passing the Humboldt University while walking back from our new home to the hotel we're staying in right now. It was six o'clock in the evening, but the campus doors were wide open.
Attracted by fragments of orchestra music, we entered the campus and stepped into the Humboldt Symphony Orchestra that had just taken over the park and started playing Dvorak music. We sat down and learned that this was some kind of end-of-semester rehearsal which was made open to the public.
Very nice mood, calm and relaxed. Sitting down on the lawn, drinking beer or wine, listening to the music of a whole symphony orchestra. Pretty unexpected, pretty surprising. We liked it.
