Congressional Cemetery
The Congressional Cemetery is a historic cemetery in southeast D.C., right above the banks of the Anacostia River. It was founded before the civil war and features a number of celebrities, among them Mathew Brady, the civil war documentary photographer and father of photojournalism. It's an interesting place with a visually appealing mix of old and new stuff. On a pretty cold, mostly overcast day (it's still freezing here in D.C.), I restricted myself to a focal length of 50 mm (equiv.) and to shooting in black and white. Everything looks pretty unspectacular. Good old fashioned documentary photography style. Should have toned it sepia. Sigh!
