Yesterday, my friend Ralf and I were out late night photographing D.C. by night, a task that has been on our list for years. Normally, I rarely use a tripod at all, but there is no way around it if you want to get decent night shots. So we brought our tripods, for the price of having them to carry around in our personal luggage for the next couple of weeks. 

Anyway, it turned out to be a fun and rewarding experience, and - apart from a bunch of useful and interesting photos - I managed to shot the two of us while fiddling with our cameras and tripods on the platform of the Lincoln memorial:
